iPhone 13 series launched, price, full specs, features upgrade or not?

Apple then went on to finally launched the iphone 13 lineup and as the leak suggested the iphone 13 is pretty much what we expected as far as it being an s-tier upgrade this year. Let's start with 

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini

iPhone 13/13 Mini - Design

Firstly there are five new colors for the regular 13 and 13 mini you've got pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and a slightly different product red iphone 13 this time around. And just as leaked we've got a slightly smaller notch on the display and diagonally aligned dual cameras. The weight of the iPhone 13 is around 174 g and the iPhone 13 mini's weight is around 141g which is quite impressive.

And speaking of the display it's essentially the same you're going to be getting the same super retina XDR display with a 28% brightness increase up to 800 and has a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The iPhone 13 mini has 5.4 inches screen and the iPhone 13 has a 6.1 inches screen size.

iPhone 13/13 Mini - Processor

These iPhones come with a new A15 Bionic chipset. The A15 Bionic processor is built on an architecture of 5NM and it has a 5 core GPU (only for the pro and pro max model). Apple is saying that the CPU of this A15 Bionic is faster up to 50% as compared to other smartphones and also it has a 30% of faster GPU.  

This processor is marginally faster in all the same areas you'd expect increased computing power, a faster neural engine, and new video encoders and decoders.

iPhone 13/13 Mini - Camera

Both 13 and 13 mini comes with 12+12MP of camera setup and apple hasn't changed much in the camera department this time around, but as always, Apple has improved Night Mode a lot, now you can take photos in Night Mode even with an ultra-wide-angle lens, which is One very good thing. And Apple has also added sensor-shift OIS feature to both the iPhone 13 and 13 mini.

Apple then started showing off some new video features for the iphone 13 lineup including their new cinematic video mode and this is probably the biggest update in the video department since they announced Dolby vision hdr last year.

This feature enables you to actively track and focus on different people within the frame whoever you choose and then there's some software-based depth of field effects that you can play with beforehand and after the fact when you're editing. And cinematic mode will record all videos in Dolby Vision HDR.

iPhone 13/13 Mini - Battery Life

They also made improvements in the battery life department, as well as all the leaks, suggested. According to Apple, the battery of the iPhone 13 will last 2.5 hours more than that of the iPhone 12 and the battery of the iPhone 13 Mini will last 1.5 hours more than that of the iPhone 12 Mini.

The improved battery life is a combination of the A15 Bionic processor, a larger battery, and software optimization according to apple. 

That's pretty much it as far as upgrades for the iphone 13 and 13 mini like we said this is very much an S year type of upgrade.

iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max

And then apple finally capped off the event by announcing the new iphone 13 pro and 13 pro max. It's going to come in this new sierra blue color which looks really really clean. The pros have that slightly smaller notch just like the regular 13 and 13 mini. The weight of the iPhone 13 Pro is around 204 g and the iPhone 13 mini's weight is around 250g which is decent.

The iPhone 13 Pro comes with a display size of 6.1 inches and the iPhone 13 pro max comes with 6.7 inches. Both the phones have a promotion 120hz display, and the 120HZ refresh rate is fully adaptive that means this display will keep switching from 10 to 120HZ to save your phone battery. Also, the display has a peak brightness of 1200 nits and it is 25% brighter than the iPhone 12 pro.

iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max - Processor

Similar to iPhone 13 the 13 pro and 13 pro max also have A15 bionic chipset but this A15 bionic has 5 core of GPU, and apple saying that this GPU will deliver 50% faster graphics as compared to any other smartphone. It also has an advanced ISP and a super-fast Neural Engine that performs up to 15.8 trillion operations per second.

iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max - Camera

Both 13 pro and 13 pro max come with a camera setup of 12+12+12MP. There are more camera upgrades on the pro models, you're getting a new 77-millimeter telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom and a new sensor for the ultra-wide-angle camera which enables night mode.

The ultrawide camera will also be able to shoot photos in a new macro mode. They also announced a new photographic styles feature which is basically just apple-made presets for your photos, not anything crazy.

Also on the video side of things, you're getting a few cool features like a slow-mo macro video mode and then you're getting prores video recording and this is a really cool feature for professional video shooters who want an end-to-end pro workflow that's going to be a really cool feature to test out.

iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max - Battery Life

According to Apple, the battery of the iPhone 13 pro will last 1.5 hours more than that of the iPhone 12 pro and the battery of the iPhone 13 pro max will last 2.5 hours more than that of the iPhone 12 pro max.

You're getting an improved battery in both models just like with the regular 13 and 13 mini and they snuck in the addition of a 1TB storage option at the very end and you're getting all of this for the same price as last year.

Do You Need to Upgrade Your iPhone?

So if you already have iPhone 12 series iPhone, then you don't need to upgrade to this 13 series, and I think you should wait for iPhone 14 series because now there are a lot of leaks coming out. And if you have any 11 series or 10 series iPhone then you should definitely upgrade to the iPhone 14 series.
