This time I'm going to talk about artificial intelligence that's delivered over the Internet from the cloud.
Cloud AI services allow web pages, software applications or physical objects (things) to upload data to the Internet and receive a cognitive response. This video introduces the theory and practice of modular cloud AI, including demos of some free Google and Microsoft offerings.
I'm going to present a framework for Cloud Al services. I was gonna highlight some of those services already being made available from the likes of Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and IBM.
Cloud Al services deliver cognitive capacities over the Internet. More specifically, they allow client applications or client things, to upload, structured or unstructured data and to receive a cognitive response.
So, for example, a website may submit text in English to a cloud I service and received back a translation, and French or a smart speaker may upload a stream of audio data and received back and interpreted command or the answer to a user's/information request. From a user's perspective, Cloud Ai services may be categorized into four quadrants on the two by two matrix. On one axis, we have the type of client involved, which may be a software application or a physical object or thing on the other axis, we have the type of data upload, which may be structured or unstructured.
Human beings are able to process structured data but soon become overwhelmed by high levels of voluble velocity, which Al services can increasingly process.
To provide some examples a Cloud I recommendations engine may be plugged into an e-commerce website where it can learn from previous customer transactions on present visitors with optimal purchase options.
Meanwhile, a face recognition service may be accessed by a Web page or a standalone software application. Thirdly, an Al voice service can allow a smart speaker, home automation system or even an automobile to upload a stream of audio data, which is transformed into a meaningful command or question response.
Finally, an optimization engine may receive a mass of sensor data and use it to improve the functioning of a water treatment plant and an electricity grid or even the whole colony of things, such as a fleet of delivery vehicles.
Cloud Al is expanding rapidly and will facilitate many new business and computing services. This said it will also place an increasing quantity of personal information and power into the hands of a very small number of computing companies. And Because of that, I'd be very interested in your view on this topic.
Do you welcome the fact we're entering into a world where we'll be able to interact with our computers a lot more fluidly talking natural language, voice control of robots and home automation and all that kind of stuff?
Or do you worry about the fact that what we're gonna do in terms of surrendering information to actually get those services?. So please let us know what you think about that down in the comments section.
Glad to visit this blog, really helpful. Gathered lots of information and waiting to see more updates.
